Langtang is a narrow alpine valley that lies to the north of Kathmandu and south of Tibetan border. Trek to Langtang includes major areas - Langtang, Gosainkunda and Helambu. It is popular for holy lake of Gosainkunda, Hindus and Budhhist pilgrimage site. Additionally, it offers opportunity to get acquianted with different cultures and traditions -Tibetan, Gurung and Tamang. It also offer good chances to see different wildflowers,birds, wildlifes including endangered species of Red Panda. Langtang Gosainkunda trek starts from the ancient city of Kathmandu. From Kathmandu you will board the bus going to Syaphrubesi. Your hike starts from Syaphrubesi. The trail follows gradual uphill from there as you will make you way along the Langtang khola. You will pass through thick forest covered usually by bamboos, rhododendrons, oaks and himalayan pine trees. Passing from Lama Hotel to Langtang Village you will reach a famous Kyanjing Gompa from where you can see various mounatin ranges including Langtang Lirung, Yubra, Langshisa Ri and gang Chhenpo. You will hike to Tsergo Ri the following morning to see more beautlful view of the mountains.

Along the way you can see avalance and the creak sound from the galcier as well as other wild life like deer and blue sheep. There you can visit to the traditional cheese factory. The trail takes you further to Thulo Syaphru then to Chandan Bari where you can have a chance to see Red Panda. Trekking towards the famous Gosainkunda you will come across to see the national bird of Nepal - Lopophorous. Trekking further forward you will see some of the Buddhist Monasteries along the way, before heading back to Kathmandu completing the trek.

Day01:  Arrival

Our representative will pick you up from Tribhuvan international airport and drop you to hotel. Today you need to prepare your trekking gear and  you can roam around Kathmandu city if you have extra time.

Day02: Sightseeing around Kathmandu

Our manager will come to your hotel with city guide for you to take a tour around some historical and cultural places around Kathmandu valley. Your tour includes 4 places: Patan Darbar Square, Pashupatinath temple, Boudha Stupa  and Syambhunath Stupa. The same day we will introduce you to your trekking guide.

Day03: Kathmandu to Shyaprubesi(1460m)

Driving Time: 6 hrs

Your trekking guide picks you up from your hotel to bus park. You will be driven to Shyaprubesi by localbus through the bumpy highway.Along the way you will see mountains like Langtang, Manaslu,  Ganesh Himal and other mountain ranges. Today you might feel bit tired because you pass almost 132 km by local bus. Overnight at hotel here.

Day04: Shyaprubesi to Lama hotel (2560m)

Walking Time: 6 hrs

Wake up early, finish breakfast & be ready to start trek. Trial is quiet hard and narrow uphill but don't loose your patience. At a 15 minutes distance of Shyaprubesi you need to cross a supspension bridge over the Bhote Koshi river. You can take a short and easy route through Bamboo or take a long and streneous route via Sherpa village to Lama hotel. If you opt for longer route you will be able to enjoy the beautiful mountain views - Ganesh Himal, Tibetan Peak  while shorter route provide less mountain views. Choice is yours. Overnight at Lama hotel.

Day05: Lama hotel to Langtang Village(3455m)

Walking Time: 5 hrs

Today you will be trekking along the bank of Langtang khola which is gentle climb though thick forest covered mostly with bamboos, rhododendrons, oaks and himalayan pine trees. During April and March you will see colorful forest painted with red, white and yellow wildflowers. Along the way you will see Mt. Langtang Lirung (7250m) - the highest peak in Langtang region. We will stop at GhodaTabela for entry of your trekking permit  and continue to Thangshyap for lunch. Now you will see less green vegetations and more thorny plants. You will reach to Langtang village after ascending for 1.5 hours. Langtang village is the biggest primitive settlement in Langtang valley. You will be able to see local farming lands, mane walls, cheese factory, small hydropower station. Overnight at trekking lodge here.

Day06: Langtang village to Kyanjing Gompa (3870m)

Walking Time: 4 hrs

Trek gradually uphill alongside of Langtang river passing alpine lands where you will see sheeps, horses and yaks grazing on pasture. After walking for about 4 hours you will reach to Kyangjing Gompa through small sherpa village of Yamphu. You will see local inhabitants, Snowy mountains, raming lands, grassy slopes, hills and pastures along the way. You will have a heavenly feeling and will forgot all your tiredness after reaching Kyanjing Gompa whih circumferenced by the mighty mountains. After lunch, climb to Kyangjing-Ri(4770m) that takes you 2 hours. From here you will see spectacular view of mountains like Langtang lirung (7250m),Yubra (6264m),Langshisa Ri (6412m),Gang Chhenpo(6378m) . If the weather is clear you will be able to enjoy the sunset view. Stay overnight at Kyanjing Gompa.

Day07: Acclimatization day

Walking Time: 7 hrs

Today is hard and challenging day, so you need to be ready mentally and physically. Wake up before sun rise and start to climb to Tsergo Ri (4983m). The first hour of the trek is quite easy but after crossing the river, the trail is steeply up all the way to top of Tsergo Ri. Along the way you will see panoramic views of mountains, avalanche, creak sound of glacier and some wild life like deer and blue sheep. When you are at the top of Tsergo Ri you will see 360 degree panoramic mountain views. At the top very strong wind blows all the time so do not stay longer on top as you might got altitude sickness. Make a quick picture and have a pack lunch then descend all the way to Kyanjin Gompa where you will stay overnight.

Day08: Kyanjin Gompa to Lama Hotel (2560m)

Walking Hours: 6 hrs

After breakfast you will follow the same way which is gentle down hill and for most of the trail you need to follow the bank of Langtang Khola for a whole day. take more time and we suggest you to walk very slowly as you will feel dizzy because of less oxygen. Overnight in Lama Hotel.


Day09: Lama Hotel to Thulo Syaphru (2228m)

Walking hours: 5 hrs

Today we still need to go downhill through the huge forest until Pahero. Then you will have an option to go back all the way to ShyapruBesi or head the upper way all the way to Thulo Syaphru. If you are at Thulo Syaphru you will see big Sherpa village and monasteries. If the weather reamins clear you will see incredible views of Ganesh Himal, Manaslu and some of the Tibetan Mountains.

Day10: Thulo Syaphru to Chandan Bari (3330m)

Walking hours: 5 hrs

Today the trail follows steep uphill through the huge pine forest. If you are lucky, you can get chance to see Red Panda. You have another option to go Dhunche from Thulo Syaphru or continue uphill all the wy to Gosainkunda trail.

Day11: Chandan Bari to Gosainkunda (4397m)

Walking hours: 6 hrs

Today from the beginning, the trial follows uphill all the way to Laurebina Yak hill but you will see spectacular view of various mountain and valleys. Today you can also see Nepali national bird Lophophorus. Close to Gosainkunda you will see various lakes like Saraswati Kunda, Bhairav Kunda , Gosainkunda and also you will see some guest house where you will stay overnight.

Day12: Gosainkunda over the pass to Ghopte (3430m)

Walking hour: 6 hrs

Wake up early then head over the Laurebina yak pass (4610m). Along the way to Laurebina the trail is pretty uphill and it takes you 2 and half hours to get at top where you will see many hill surrounding close to you and also some lakes. After making the successful pass, the trail descends all the way to Ghopte.

Day13: Ghopte to Kutumsang (2470m)

Walking hours: 6 hrs

After the breakfast you will continue your trek towards Kutunsang. Until Tharepati, you have to go up hill then the rest of the trail follows downhill. From Tharepati you have another option to do Helambu Treks or continue to Chisapani through Kutumsang. Today is last day of walk in Langtang National Park, where you have a chance to see red panda if you are lucky.


Day14: Kutumsang to Chisapani(2215m)

Walking hour: 6 hrs

Wake up early in the morning because on the clear day you will see long range of majestic Himalayas on the northen side and also the sunrise view is great. After breakfast, the trail is gradual uphill until Deurali. Then the trail follows steep downhill all the way to Pati Bhanjyang and continues to go up hill to Chisapani where you will stay overnight.

Day15: Chisapani to Sundarijal (1410m)

Walking hour: 5 hrs

Chisapani is one of the best place to see the sunrise as well as viewing long range of mountains like Langtang, Ganesh Himal, Annapurna, Dorjelakpa, Manaslu and others. Wake up before sunrise then go to the roof top of the hotel to enjoy these incredible scenery. After breakfast, be ready for the last day of the hike through Sivapuri National Park. For the intial 1.5 hour you have to go uphill through the stone steps then rest of the trail downhill all the way to Sundarijal where you will catch the bus or taxi back to Kathmandu. Rest of the day you can enjoy buying some presents to your family & friends and by walking around Thamel.

Day16: Departure

Last day of the trip, representative from our office will drop you at the airport for the final departure.
